We hope that you are able to find time on Saturday, May 9 to attend the 6th Annual "Beach Run & Walk" at Lido West Beach.  Ace in the Hole Foundation and the Town of Hempstead invite you to celebrate Mike's life while also catching up with old friends, having some breakfast, and breaking a sweat while enjoying one of the most beautiful landscapes in America, Lido West Beach on Long Island's south shore.

Registration is fast and easy! Please follow the link below:

The event will be a fun run and walk. It will not be a timed race. The course for the event will start at Lido West Beach immediately past the wooden walkway from “1st Lt Michael LiCalzi Path”.  When entering the beach, drive to the right of the parking lot.

REGISTRATION: 9:00 to 10:30 AM

The running/walking course will consist of a well demarcated path on the beach approximately two (2) miles long. Registrants can opt to walk or run for the full distance (2 miles) or a shorter distance (1 mile or 1/2 mile). We will have small prizes for the winners so all you "professional beach runners", this is the race for you!  The participants will start and end at the same location. For safety reasons, runners will start first with walkers behind them.

All registrants will receive a raceday t-shirt. Food and beverage will be provided so come early and carb load before the 2 mile race. We will also have live music from a local band!
Great prizes prizes including 2 round trip tickets flying anywhere in America, tickets to Disney World, gift cards to restaurants, and many more!
We will be hosting the after party at a bar/restaurant in the Long Beach area immediately after the event.
Driving: Take the Southern State Parkway to Meadowbrook State Parkway South.  Exit onto Loop Parkway.  Continue onto Lido Blvd (Heading West) for 2.5 miles.  Turn Left at Beach Entrance (Across from Fire Station)
Train: Take the Long Island Rail Road to Long Beach
Ace in the Hole Foundation was established in honor and memory of 1st Lt. Michael LiCalzi, USMC. Mike was only 24 years old when he died for our country while assigned to 2nd Tank Battalion in Iraq. He was born and raised in Garden City, proud graduate of Chaminade High School & US Naval Academy, surfer at Lido West Beach, and all around great guy. Come support his memory and the causes he fought to protect by taking part in this great event!  Please go to for more details
